So apparently every year my high school puts on
It's a Wonderful Life just before the holidays. It's "reader's theatre", which means that the actors and actresses stand at a podium and read their lines, acting out their part at that spot. It's supposed to be a low-stress type of performance, since we can, and should, have our scripts to read from.
I tried out last Thursday, and the following Friday I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had gotten a part! I tried out for Ernie the cab driver which is the role I got--I didn't want a huge role, as I'd be too nervous, and I didn't want the seniors and juniors to feel like I was encroaching on their territory by trying for a main part. The performance is Friday night, and I'm pretty pumped! I'll let you know how it turns out!
In summary:
- Every year our high school puts on It's a Wonderful Life
- It is called 'reader's theatre', where the actors and actresses read their lines and act out their parts behind a podium
- I got in! I'm playing Ernie, the cab driver
Devious Comments
When I was in elementary school was the first (and only) time I had done a reader's theater - but I was Charlotte in Charolotte's Web o.o
